IEEE project on VLSI Design Converting RF to SERDES for a Configurable communication system

  RF to Serializer and Deserializer

Increasing demands in mobile technology are pushing cellular network capacity.Henceforth Massive MIMO antenna with larger data communicating base stations are become more wider on the way.

The advancements in CMOS Technology and Configurable design enable the engineers doing various inventions in VLSI platforms which gives solution to realtime RF Communications.

There also challenges in integrating complex algorithms in a single SOC which create route for large interference and chip level power issues.leakage current and voltages.RF to serializer and deserializer is one of the technique used to enable the use of input signals easier.

Such a circuit process the large data sets from MASSIVE MIMO to enable the communication speed processing time linear.  Configurable platforms always ensure the flexible architecture where one can include future requirements too. One kind of RF to SERDES is designed here. Output video is simulated here.

Inputs area RF in nature which are given to a LNA , filter section , and analog to digital converter, the same vice versa in Serdes to RF. SERDES is nothing but serializer and Deserializer.

These convert the continuous wave analog signal and process the modulation works and serialize to the required speed.

FPGA - IOT configurable Platforms an overview

Nowadays IOT we called as Internet of things become more precise data transmission as a simple cloud based hub can do the trick all we need, we can access the cloud using the high speed FPGA s rite now.Internet of things is mandatory for global access of data from wherever you are example a Home secure system which can be controlled using the cloud, a patients monitoring , a temperature control of the  value like how we do transactions, banking, teaching, learning everything through online,its now become everything using cloud.

FPGA's Role ?

FPGA are more familiar for its high speed operating frequency, the neumorous  gate size , the configurable platform architecture and flexible coding models. Those kind of FPGA's now useful for designing various kind of hub based applications to ensure the secure data transmission through various encoding schemes. 

IOT bases applications uses FPGA as a key platform since reconfiguration in FPGA is more simple and user friendly when interfacing with the external world systems. The power related issues can also will not disturb the flow of fpga logics. as we know the all kind of IOT applications need a simple IOT Kit with internet accessible hardware with a transmitter.

How to start up designing an simple IOT platform using fpga , simply learn doing configurable architecture in FPGA then try to access the Hub through Terminal commands. Create a cloud to access. transfer the data. More detailed info will be followed in next post.

Self repairing VLSI Systems

VLSI Design provides huge solution to various kinds of configuration issues and stood as a back bone for developing latest applications which are frequently changable

Frequently changeable environment need more space and need high speed of processing modules enable the design can communicate with each other

VLSI design or so called chip design concepts involves various test methods for testing the chip as well as the internal modules routing etc

The integrated circuit is designed in such a way it can adopt to the new configurations and new applications through a re-programmable criteria

Frequent reconfiguration also focus on error corrections and avoidance during the run time

Fault tolerant principles requires self repairing or self healing. Self repairing is one of the best idea in research in which the configurable platforms are able to repair itself by few methods which is implanted inside the chip as a spare module

Self repairing concepts can also be segregated as Self healing, partial repair, Self replacing, Self routing even more.

Simply, whenever a fault occur inside the chip due to miscellaneous switching operations or  because of unwanted logic , these self repair module can take action. it can able to repair or correct the present errors with the help of predetermined repairing concepts.

Such kind of self repairing algorithm is implemented here and simulation is shown below.

Re configurable Voltage Level Shifter

Voltage level shifters are required in most of the digital circuits to translate the level info from high to low as well as intermediate level.It is also used to translate from one domain to another while integrating with other compatible devices.(TTL-CMOS)

A simple digital voltage level shifter is designed using Microwind software and simulated the voltage vs current performance, Frequency vs time performance etc. the design layout is not much concerned about the size but the design produces result accurately.

The same design of Voltage level shifter when designed using FPGA the performance and applications are more wider. The advantage of reconfigurable design in FPGA make that advantage. The design utilizes one global clock and variable reference clock.

The architecture designed uses low power block like clock gated latches and flipflops which enable the entire system to work in low power and cannot allow clock errors too.
